Our Why
Mission: Connecticut Health Professionals for Climate Action (CHPCA) mobilizes and empowers Connecticut's health community to advocate for equitable climate solutions that protect the health of our patients, communities, and the environment we all share.
Who We Are: We are a coalition of physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, public health workers, health trainees, and health sector professionals across Connecticut who recognize that climate change is the greatest public health crisis of the 21st century.
What We Believe:
Climate change is harming Connecticut residents today, with low-income communities and communities of color experiencing greater harm
Health professionals, as trusted messengers, have a vital role in raising public awareness and catalyzing action
The health benefits of climate action are immediate and substantial—from cleaner air and water to healthier communities
Climate policy is health policy, and health equity must be central to Connecticut's climate response
